The Eddie "Almost Went."

I havnt posted anything for the past couple weks only because Ive been tired and busy from work and recent scheduled shoots but I'm alive and well and have so much to cover from last week and this week. So I'll try to fit in everything in one blog post so I can catch up with my weekly posting.

Wednesday February 10th, was the day Hawaii would see the "Eddie" surf competition go. It was full force out here this morning and we came the night before just to claim a spot and beat the traffic. Sadly the competition never happened and everyone was left in awe as the contest officials anticipated the surf to early and announced that the Eddie would not happen this day. It was pretty heart broken to find out that the surf competition would never happen, I waited my whole life just to see it in person. You cant blame mother nature, she has the power to control the oceans. I made most of the day by trying to shoot some photos in the surf but that was way too hard hahha but we still hanged out and spoent the day relaxing.

Taking the drone out to film some of the early morning action right after the contest was officialy cancled.

Surfers still headed out to the point to catch the surf although it was way too small for anything epic. It did however pick up intensely right after we left and in the evening.

Some People wernt aware of how fast the surf picked up in the morning. Had the 30ft surf already been happening earlier in the morning, all of these people wouldnt even be on the shore at all. Just imagine if this was a set that came out of no where, a lot of people wouldve gotten swept away for sure.

The shorebreak was tempting at first, and then I ended up going in, only to be shooting bad conditons and barely getting anything pohoto worthy. It was better than going home without spending the day at the beach on my day off.
