Weekend Recap #18: Sunrises and Waves

Finally been able to be back with another weekend getaway, this past Saturday consisted of venturing out to Lanikai for some early morning sunrise photos and Sunday was another beach day at Sandys and Point Panics.

This past Saturday I met up with my sponosr from Mynakyne Hawaii with hopes of trying to hike the pillbox trail for some epic photos but since he slept in and wanted to go earlier, I still decided to leave my house at 4 something in the morning haha. I got to Lanikai around 5 and proceeded to shoot at my favorite spot there. This was a perefect time to practice using my Neutral Density filters to achieve that smooth misty effect. After shooting about a few hours, I met up with my sponsor and we decided not to hike the trail because it was too late and he had to go to a bbq that afternoon.

On Sunday, my friend and I were suppose to go to Sandys but he forgot to wake up early so I left without him(Never wait for anyone who cant wake up for Sandys) and made my way to the east side. Got there around 5 and waited until it was the right time to jump in and shoot photos. Sadly the conditons were great for a few hours and after that it just got bad right aroun 8am to 9am. As always I got a few photos which is all I really need to call it a good day.

After my long morning, I went down to check out the secret bench in Hawaii Kai along with the Kaiser Mansion but didnt have a chance to take photos because it was just too much of a hassle to bring all my gear when you have to walk across knee deep water. I ended up going for a round two beach session at Point Panics to bodysurf whcih is probably where I shoudlve gone to earlier. To finally end the day, I went to one of my favorite places to eat at on the weekends; Highway Inn at Kaka'ako. I may have had taken less pictures but I got to spend my weekend the way I always do.

That Sky Porn though.....

After the sunrise panorama.

It's like a secret hideaway.

Those epic pink and purple colors exploded into this beautiful photo.

Action early morning at Sandy Beach.

Can you find the heart?

There's uncle Gavin charging, he pretty much lives there since you'll see him almost every morning.

Barrell Frames.
