Weekend Recap #2: Sandy Beach Sunday
It's back to Sandy Beach on the winward side of Oahu and Sunday's conditions were a bit funky but still provided some fun surf. Of course I had to wake up at 4am just to make sure I can get there early but I didnt leave until 5:30, although I was still one of the first ones to be at the parking lot haha. Here's a little recap of how the surf looked liked.
Waiting for conditions to get a little better around 6am. Sadly the windy choppy conditions prevailed throughout most of the morning.
Sometimes you always get those very nice photos that are hard to come by and end up having someone in the way. For me, I dont mind, because were all having fun out there getting are shots and videos, We all have to share the ocean. This is also a size perspective of how Sandys usually looks like on 3-4ft.
Here's a Sandy Beach Regular, Gavin Iwai, charging on this wave and getting one of his major drops of the morning. You'll see him here almost everyday shooting photos and bodyboarding.
Perpective gives you an idea of how something looks from someone elses point of view. Capturing that moment at Sandys can show you how beautifully crazy this beach can be. This beach is for experienced and people who know what they are doing out here, so dont be one of those tourist or person that cant handle these surf conditions, you might leave in a wheel chair or worse.
